Our company was founded by Frank H. Lawton and Frank A. Lawton, father and
son, in January 1940. Still independently owned, Gary and Ray,
sons of co-founder Frank A., now serve as Chairmen of the
Board for
File EZ and
Lawton Printing, respectively.
Both companies are under the leadership of Laura
Lawton-Forsyth as President. Laura represents one of the
family's 4th generation employed by the corporations. The
company is pursuing a course of growth that focuses on meeting
customer needs, while building an organization that will
provide the employees and owners a secure future in the
graphic communications field.
Over the years, Lawton has diversified into four
separate, but interrelated divisions. In addition to the
Commercial Printing
plant, our sister company,
File-Ez
Folder, Inc., produces 32 million back
to school folders, some 15 varieties, each year. A third
division,
Lawton Publications,
produces Chamber of Commerce publications yearly for over 100
Chambers nationwide. The newest addition to the publication
division is
Senior Living Strategies, a
resource guide for seniors and their caregivers. These
guides are currently being produced in Arizona, Texas and
Washington. The fourth is our direct mail order
Index Tab Division, that
has over 25,000 customers across the nation and the capability
to do customized work.
This diversification has enabled Lawton to be a
leader in the provision of value added services, such as data
classification, warehousing and fulfillment, which sets us
apart from our competition. We are also a recognized leader in
desktop and electronic prepress services. We provide
instruction and information for our customers in the
preparation of their digital files.
Lawton has always been actively involved with
the local and regional trade associations and for the past 20
years we have been directly involved on the national level
with
Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts
Technical Foundation. This involvement
significantly benefits our customers. Through PIA we network
with printers across the country which keeps us on the leading
edge of the most current information within the industry.
Laura Lawton-Forsyth currently serves on an advisory board to
Kodak's graphic arts division. This enables us to continually
adapt to the changing needs of our customers.
As we look to the future, we look to forming
more partnerships with organizations whose personalities and
goals are compatible with ours. We know from years of
experience that we excel at adapting our services to meet the
specific needs of each individual customer, in long term
partnerships.
